Joe Fortune Casino: Our 2020 Review of Their Casino

Joe Fortune is a brand new casino for Australians. They launched in August 2016.

But there's no need to be alarmed.

Yes, there's usually some cause for concern with new casinos. With so many scams out there, you could easily fall into a trap signing up to a casino that has no track record.

But I don't think this is one of those times. Let me tell you why.

It doesn't have anything to do with the fact they're licensed and regulated. They're licensed through Curacao – if you read our jurisdiction pages you know this doesn't mean squat.

No, the reason why I feel there's nothing to worry about is because of who their affiliate program is through – Betting Partners. Betting Partners also works with other popular brands such as Bovada, Bodog, .lv and Ignition Casino.

They don't work with many brands, and who they do work with have good reputations. It's for that reason I think it's safe for Australians to join Joe Fortune Casino.

With that said, let's kick off this review with an in-depth look at what games Joe Fortune offers.

Play 400+ Games at Joe Fortune

You'll find a large selection – more than 400 different casino games – at Joe Fortune. That's because they work with software providers Microgaming, Real Time Gaming and Rival.

One thing I don't see, and am somewhat surprised of, is BetSoft. It doesn't look like they work with them. I find that odd because BetSoft's standard for Betting Partners' casinos.

It's not that you need more than 400 games. However, BetSoft would have added 100+ unique games not found anywhere else, including their entertaining 3D slots.

Anyway, instead of talking about what you can't play, let's look at what games you can play. Here's a complete list of games you can play at Joe Fortune.

Specialty Games

  • 30-Ball Bingo
  • 80-Ball Bingo
  • American Bingo
  • Beach Bums
  • Cast For Cash
  • Cavalier Cash
  • European Bingo
  • Gunslinger's Gold
  • Itchin' 2 Win
  • Keno
  • Penguin Payday
  • Pirate's Pillage
  • Sudoku Box Game
  • Tiki Treasure
  • Vegas Jackpot Keno

They have a larger specialty section than I've seen at most casinos. Those games include a mix of keno, bingo and scratch tickets.

Table Games

You'll have a nice selection of blackjack, roulette and table games to choose from. A good balance overall.

  • American Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Caribbean Hold'Em
  • Caribbean Stud Poker
  • Craps
  • Double Deck Blackjack
  • European Blackjack
  • European Roulette
  • Let 'Em Ride
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Perfect Pairs
  • Single Deck Blackjack
  • Tri Card Poker
  • Vegas Three Card Rummy
  • Zappit Blackjack

One thing I'm not a fan of, though, is the quantity of games. You'll find more options – at least more blackjack variants – at other casinos – even those that primarily use Real Time Gaming.

But for many people quantity isn't everything – quality is.

Video Poker

Here are your video poker options:

  • Bonus Deuces Wild 1 Hand
  • Bonus Poker 1 Hand
  • Bonus Poker Deluxe 1 Hand
  • Deuces Wild
  • Double Bonus Poker 1 Hand
  • Double Double Bonus Poker 1 Hand
  • Double Double Jackpot Poker 1 Hand
  • Double Jackpot Poker 1 Hand
  • Jacks Or Better 1 Hand
  • Jacks Or Better 10 Hands
  • Jacks Or Better 3 Hands
  • Jacks Or Better 52 Hands
  • Joker Poker 1 Hand
  • Joker Poker 10 Hands
  • Joker Poker 3 Hands
  • Joker Poker 52 Hands
  • Loose Deuces 1 Hand

One thing I like about their video poker section are the multi-hand variations. If you have the bankroll and have a craving for action, these should satisfy you.

However, while they have 15+ different video poker machines, they only have 6 different variations. You can certainly find more at both Real Time Gaming -and- Microgaming powered casinos.

My favorite slots are the licensed ones. These are machines you'll only find from software companies who work with non US-facing casinos -OR- brick and mortar casinos worldwide. This means you get to play fun titles like Terminator, Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones.

Overall, they have a solid selection of games. I think that's largely thanks to Microgaming and their MASSIVE game library. That alone is worth signing up for.

Alright, one last thing before we move on –

Joe Fortune's site is mobile responsive. This means the site will change to fit the size of your browser window.

This is great because you can play here from any device (namely iOS and Android, but also Mac and Linux, too) and the games should look great.

However, when I checked out their mobile site I noticed they have a MUCH smaller selection of games. It's still a solid selection – and a good balance – of games when compared to other (mobile) casinos. But when you compare it to their desktop casino, I feel like there can be more.

But they're still new yet. I expect their quality and quantity of games and variants to only go up from here.

$5,000 Welcome Package + Other Promos

Joe Fortune has a few promotions going on. Let's talk about their Welcome Package first.

This is their offer for first time depositors. Over your first 9 deposits you'll be able to earn as much as $5,000.

Here's how that works:

  • First Deposit – 200% match up to $1,000
  • Next 8 Deposits – 100% match up to $500

This offer is for pokies (slots), keno and scratch games. It has a 40x play through on the deposit and bonus.

You can play other games, too, but keep in mind that not all games contribute the same amount to the bonus. Some will contribute 10 or 20 percent. This means you'll need to wager 5-10x the original rollover, or about 200-400x the deposit and bonus.

Whether that's worth it or not is up to you. Here's a chart showing you how this works for each game:

  • Slots - All Types, Scratch Cards, Specialty Games, Keno arrow 100%
  • Pai Gow, TriCard Poker, Let 'Em Ride, Caribbean Poker(all) arrow 20%
  • Video Poker (All types), Blackjack (unless stated otherwise), Baccarat arrow 10%
  • Single Deck & Double Deck Blackjack, Craps, Roulette arrow 5%

You'll also need to remember to play through each offer before you can take advantage of the next one.

This is a pretty good welcome offer, at least for slots and keno players. It's so large you'd almost question the legitimacy of the room (especially a new room). But since we're confident they're legit, an offer this big must be for the attention.

Their next offer is their Mate's Rates.

This is their referral program. Once you hit their site you'll see that they're pushing this pretty hard. Not surprising, really, since they're new.

You'll get $100 for every person who signs up and deposits. And your friends will get the $5,000 welcome package plus an additional $10 in free casino chips.

There's no limit to how many people you can refer. There is a 60x play through before the deposit, bonus or winnings can be cashed out, and the bonus has a max cash out rate of 10x the deposit.

Last up is their Ripper Rewards. This is their VIP program. You earn 1 point for every $1 wagered on slots and 1 point for every $4 wagered on everything else.

Here's what their rewards look like:

If you score more than 50,000 points in one calendar month and have more than $25,000 in lifetime deposits, you'll get bumped up a level and will receive extras like:

Once you hit this VIP status, all you need to do to maintain it is to earn 50,000 points every 3 months. This is a good offer compared to casinos who force you to maintain your status on a month-to-month basis.

Your Banking Options

You can make a deposit using credit/debit cards or bitcoin.

I suppose you don't need much else, but at the same time they might be turning away customers who'd rather use a different option.

For cash outs you can use:

Bitcoin credit/debit cards wire transfers checks

According to their site they're committed to getting payments out in 4-10 days. If you use bitcoin, you'll get your funds within 24 hours.

If you have any questions you can contact them by email, live chat or toll-free phone at: 1800-837-129. Their live chat was fast – the operator answered my cash out question within a minute or two. She was friendly, too.

They also have an FAQ that looks to be a work in progress. There were quite a few 404 error pages when I checked them out, but I imagine these are simply a byproduct of their launch and will be fixed soon.

Conclusion: Is Joe Fortune Worth Checking Out?

Honestly, it's too early to tell. All I can do is tell you what I think.

They have a solid selection of games. 400+ games is nothing to complain about. I'd like to see more variants and mobile options, but that's it.

And they have a decent welcome bonus for slots/keno players. It could be better for everyone else – a 200-400x rollover is ridiculous – but that's not far outside the norm, if not on par with most online casinos.

Between that, and the fact that they work with Betting Partners – a legitimate company who works with other legitimate online casinos – and, yeah, I think Joe Fortune is worth a look.

You can't beat the fun slang used on their site, either. There's an abundance of Aussie vernacular used from bloody, bastard, mate, gander, pookies, tele, footy and boozer.

It's definitely a casino for Australians – and a decent looking one at that.

I can only imagine they get better from here, but time will tell. We'll be sure to keep you updated.
